Typography is not only a critical part of design but it's also one of the most fun parts. Type52 is an innovative typography project headed up by Cara Clara Murtagh. The idea behind the project is to get people experimenting with type in an open environment and to collaborate with others via a blog and facebook page.
It's a great way to share different typefaces and inspire people to use type in different and interesting ways. It also gives people a chance to connect with other like minded people. It's a way to share ideas and give encouragement to other designers to keep designing and keep breaking new boundaries in terms of design and type.
Type52 had there first showcase at the Filmbase in Dublin on the 30th of March. Here, some of the designers who have featured on Type52 got to show their work in an open environment. I hope to see much more from Type52 in the future and I am sure we will.
